e-coating is an electrostatic coating process used to protect the metal surface of chairs and tables from corrosion, providing a high quality, durable finish.

The process involves several stages:

• The object to be coated undergoes a surface preparation process that includes cleaning and, sometimes, a chemical treatment to improve the adhesion of the coating

• immersed in a tank containing a paint suspension with an electrostatic charge

• After the coating is applied, the item is fired in a kiln to cure the paint and create a durable, hardwearing finish.

• During the firing phase, the paint hardens, melts and forms a uniform coating on the surface of the object, offering effective protection against corrosion, scratches and other damages

The main advantages of e-coating are:

• better resistance to corrosion than other painting processes

• uniform coverage even on complex shapes

• greater material efficiency thanks to the low rate of paint waste and the possibility of obtaining high quality finishes

E-coating is also often used in the automotive and metallurgical sectors, and is also an environmentally friendly process, as it reduces the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into the atmosphere.
